Charles Perrault is one of the most famous fairy tale writers, popular among children. Just like the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Andersen, as well as many other well-known fairy tale writers, he found inspiration for his stories in folk literature. To many great fairy tale writers, Perrault himself was a role model. His work has been rewritten many times by various authors, often using more soft elements to make his stories more appropriate to children, because Perrault never hesitated to include some rather creepy motives in his books.

It is a timeless story of the jealousy and innocence of a young girl mistreated by her stepmother and older stepsisters. This is the story that has won the hearts of many generations by teaching them that being humble will make them rise and win and that being good and kind will not only be recognized but also rewarded. Cinderella, as a character, is the embodiment of modesty and diligence.

She tolerated everything patiently. Still, what changed her life was a rebellion, a violation of the rules. Although she was forbidden to going to the ball, she did it with the help of her fairy godmother.

At the ball, she met Prince Charming who immediately fell in love with her. She was the only one in the kingdom who could win his heart. The shoe symbol, which we first associate with Cinderella, tells us that there is only one person we can love.

Although we may pretend, the heart always knows the truth. A shoe that fits a single leg is a metaphor for the unique love we can only get from one, special person. Theme: The story of a prince who sought his beloved with a shoe that only her foot could fit. Idea: The right person will recognize our worth no matter how bad the circumstances we live in.

Once upon a time, there was a nobleman who, after the death of his first wife, remarried, an evil woman who already had two daughters from her first marriage. The nobleman also had a daughter from his first marriage, but unlike her new stepsisters, she was kind and beautiful, the same as her mother was. Right after the wedding, the stepmother showed her real face, forcing her to do all the hard work around the house and to sleep in the attic.

Although she was wearing old, dirty clothes, she was still more beautiful than her sisters. One day, the king organized a ball for his son and invited all of the nobility. The two stepsisters were looking forward to go to the dance, made their hair and bought the most beautiful dresses. Cinderella, selflessly, helped them get dressed secretly wanting to go to the ball like every other girl.

When the big day finally arrived, her stepsisters went to the ball and Cinderella said goodbye to them in tears. Her fairy godmother saw her crying and she felt pity for Cinderella. The poor girl told her she wanted to go to the ball, so the godmother decided to help her.

First, she sent the girl to the garden to get a pumpkin which then she carved and magically made a beautiful carriage of it. After that, Cinderella had to bring a mousetrap where 6 mice were caught, and the fairy godmother turned them into horses. The lizards that Cinderella found were turned into servants. Cinderella was still wearing filthy clothes so the fairy godmother made her a beautiful dress with just one touch of her magic wand.

When they were gone, Cinderella, whose heart was very sad, sat down and cried bitterly; but as she sat sorrowful, thinking of the unkindness of her sisters, a voice called to her from the garden, and she went out to see who was there. It was her godmother, a good old Fairy. Bring me a large pumpkin.

Cinderella obeyed, and the Fairy, touching it with her wand, turned it into a grand coach. Then she desired Cinderella to go to the trap, and bring her a rat. Cinderella kissed and thanked her godmother. Then she stepped into her coach and drove off, with her footmen behind, in great style. The Fairy, when she was gone, returned to Fairyland. The Lord Chamberlain bowed low to her, thinking she must be a very great lady by her dress and carriage, and he showed her at once into the ball-room. She was so beautiful that everybody looked at her, and wondered who she was; and the Prince asked her to dance with him, and afterwards would dance with no one else.

But she made haste to leave a little before the hour fixed, and had time to undress before her sisters came home. They told her a beautiful Princess had been at the ball, with whom the Prince was delighted. They did not know it was Cinderella herself, and she was amused to hear them admire her grace and beauty, and say that they were sure she was a royal lady.

The Prince was quite vexed when supper-time came, and he could not find his beautiful partner, and no one had seen her leave the room. But in hopes of beholding her again, he persuaded the King to give another grand ball.

And once more the rat, mice, grasshoppers, and pumpkin which had gone back to their original shapes after the first ball were turned into the grand carriage and attendants, and Cinderella, in rose-coloured satin and rubies, went to the royal ball.

Directly the Prince saw her, he asked her to dance, and would have no other partner, and as he led her past her two unkind sisters, she saw them look at her dress with envious eyes, and knew that they wished they were as beautiful, and as well-dressed as she was. Her sisters found her waiting to undress them in her usual rags, and kept her up to tell her how beautiful the unknown Princess was, and how well she was dressed. Again the Prince was vexed at the sudden disappearance of the beautiful stranger, and once more he persuaded the King to give a grand State ball.

Three technical options have been adopted: rolling over the full text; changing it to a greater or lesser degree; or writing a wholly new text along the lines of the same story.

In the latter two cases, the text becomes shorter than the original because the story is simplified. However, the increase principle occurs occasionally. Two contradictory logics for redevelopment are evident. The story of Cinderella has been recontextualized, revisioned, and retold time and time again by authors, illustrators, filmmakers, musicians, and artists around the world.

The girl in the glass slippers has crossed geographical and cultural boundaries effortlessly, her story has been appropriated in every conceivable literary genre and recycled in all the different media, and she herself has become a universal icon, recognizable merely by her lost slipper.

Both share the main plot and the use of music as a fundamental resource of expressivity although there are also many other choices that the works do not share. On the one hand, the source, that is, the version of the tale they used, was different. On the other hand, the musical solution was also conceived with these audiences in mind. Rossini was, in a sense, innovative with regard to his time and had to fight against a public that was often disappointed with the music he created.

Disney, however, was very conservative also in the use of an opera-style music, while everywhere in Western countries jazz and other popular music forms were gaining momentum. In our paper we will try to analyse both works from two points of view. Firstly, from a literary point of view, since we believe that the plot of both works corresponds to different audiences, which may help to configure different expressive resources. Secondly, from a musical point of view: the use of music in both productions may follow a pattern which may speak about the audiences and the different resources the authors relate with these specific audiences.

Cendrillon and Aschenputtel: same story, different voices. But just as the different motifs or values induce readers to see them as different texts, this presentation suggests that the way in which Perrault and the Grimms tell their respective tales distinguishes them clearly.

Indeed, Cendrillon and Aschenputtel are literary texts which confront the reader with two very different narrative voices. Through a close reading of the two texts and with a special attention paid to the manner in which Aschenputtel was transformed from the to the editionthis study will discuss their differences in terms of narration.
